(צָנִיף), “mitre” or “diadem” (cf. Zech. 3:5). This is most significant because the crowning of the priest here must have regal implications. A slight problem exists at this point as to the number of crowns involved. The MT reads the plural עֲטָרוֹת (`ăṭārôt) whereas several LXX manuscripts, the Syriac, and Targums read the singular עֲטֶרֶת(`ăṭēret).7 There is nothing inherently improbable about there being two crowns, especially in a vision, so the MT should be accepted.
